The San Francisco Tap Dance Challenge
SoYouThinkYouCanTaptm
Finally
it is all about tap dancing and tap dancers.
Tap dancers need encouragement, challenges and rewards within their chosen
art form so we proudly present this free unique challenge for tap dancing teens and adults. We include improvisation because
it is the origin and the heart of individual style in tap dance. We include the traditional tap challenge format as it stimulates
growth and innovation. Dancers also dance on the MIDITAPtm floor We encourage individual style and showcase tap dancers in a supportive setting on the wonderful
tap dance floor at the Royce Gallery.
Contestants present
short improvisational solos, join in the group tap challenge. Judges will judge the dancers on skill,
originality, and showmanship.
The top point winner in challenges I, II and III, will be awarded a $100 cash prize that night
as one of the
dancers who qualify to continue to compete for the $1,000 cash prize to be awarded
